2 reviews

Establishment:

- Level I

- Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit

- 28 beds - single and double rooms with washbasin, shower, WC, TV, tel.

- 4 rooms + 2 pre-work rooms and 1 césarienne block with adjoining alarm room.

Average length of stay: 4,4 days

Comments:

The Mutual Institut Montsouris is a high quality motherhood and whose appearance - which does nothing - is extremely pleasant, with completely redone premises, especially rooms whose clear paint reflects the light entrant… note that the block for cesarean sections and the alarm room are adjoining so as not to separate those mothers who gave birth by sections of their babies.

The catering is of quality, with the possibility of choosing its meals. Midwives - external to motherhood - offer courses in classical delivery courses as well as yoga and bocage courses, and preparation courses for dads, very popular.

HOPITAL COCHIN – ASSISTANCE PUBLIQUE

Maternity wards

This level III establishment provides: of an obstetrics unit, a neonatology unit, 20 beds and intensive care unit, 20 neonatal resuscitation beds, 40 beds + 20 high-risk pregnancy beds, 7 nursery rooms, 2 intensive monitoring beds and 2 operating blocks. The Cochin Hospital suffers from a bad reputation: Permanent overload, staff mood swings, low-human post-natal follow-up, poor room, dilapidated rooms, vétustes comfort. On the whole, this motherhood is hardly tempting. Level III, however, is recognized medically for its framework for risk pregnancies with a very competent paediatric and neonatology service. The medical and technical expertise is very good.

Maternity wards

- Level IIB

- Unit of Obstetrics

- Neonatology unit: 21 beds

- 42 obstetrics beds and 10 obstetrics beds on pathological pregnancies - single and double rooms with washbasin, shower, WC, TV, tel.

- 6 kindergartens

Average length of stay: 5,3 days

Comments:

Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Hospital merged with the Paris-Saint-Joseph and Saint-Michel hospital group in 2006. The sites thus assembled offer a large hospital group in the south of Paris, offering better service quality. There is also a possibility to attend bocage and yoga courses in the course of childbirth preparation. On the other hand, some criticisms will be levelled at the post-natal stay in maternity, particularly in terms of comfort and supervision of the périmédicales teams after birth.
