Musée Méliès, exhibiting drawings, posters, models and other costumes, is an ideal place to discover in Paris.
A magician and inventor of the first cinema gimmicks, Georges Méliès was a figure of major influence, opening the doors of dreams, fear, and fiction to cinema. Méliès, who died in 1938, revolutionised cinema, and it's only natural that the Cinémathèque should pay tribute to him with a dedicated museum. Drawings, posters, models, and costumes are on display, including some real treasures. The outstanding museography showcases his work and his influence on French cinema.
