Most of the collections presented in this museum were brought back by Clémence d 'Ennery to the end of the nineteenth century, when fashion was «chinoiserie». This passion has accumulated treasures in his particular hotel, which was finally transformed into a permanent exhibition site in 1908. It is attached to the National Museum of Asian Arts Guimet.
