In 2001, the French Ministry of Tourism created the "Tourisme et Handicap" (Tourism and Handicap) state mark, as part of its policy to promote access to vacations for all and the integration of disabled people. The aim is twofold: to develop an adapted tourism offer, and to anticipate the legal obligation of accessibility.
