At a time when the reopening of Notre-Dame is eagerly awaited by French and international travellers alike, the Mobilier national, in association with the DRAC Île-de-France, is staging a magnificent exhibition entitled "Grands décors de Notre-Dame". For the public, it's an opportunity to admire works saved after the terrible fire, as well as contemporary pieces imagined to refurnish the edifice. Thirteen great Mays by the finest 17th-century painters are on show for the first time in the same scenography for two centuries. Other highlights include a monumental choir carpet donated by Charles X, as well as the cathedral's new liturgical furnishings and seating, the result of a competition launched in 2023. The exhibition highlights the excellent work that has been carried out over the past 5 years to restore and rethink the interior décor of one of the world's most famous religious monuments. An event not to be missed in Paris in 2024. For more information, click here.
