It's a wonderful evening, skilfully fusing the art of burlesque with the universe of the Star Wars series. This parody, which has already enjoyed great success in the USA and Australia, makes its European debut in Paris at the Théâtre du Gymnase Marie-Bell. The leading characters from the intergalactic saga come to life in a mix of dance, theater and fashion shows, all with plenty of humor and seduction, of course. The master of ceremonies interacts with the audience between each number. It's energetic, funny and sometimes highly improvised, so that in the end, the audience is almost part of the show. The striptease is all finesse, with all the codes of the series. The characters, ranging from seductive Jedis to sexy Stormtroopers, a provocative Princess Leia, a charming Han Solo and a more effeminate Skywalker than the original, form a perfect blend of respect for the series and irreverence. The show is a visual success, with beautiful lighting effects and simple but evocative sets. The soundtrack, ranging from Guns N' Roses to Nicki Minaj, contributes to the show's electric feel. It humorously accompanies the various scenes, adding a layer of emotion and energy. In the end, it's 2 hours of laughter and excitement... it's clear that this burlesque celebration means we'll never see a film in the saga in the same way again.

At the Théâtre du Gymnase Marie-Bell (Paris 10ème), Thursday to Sunday at 7.30pm until January 2024. Tickets from 24 euros. More info on instagram too, with some cool visuals.
