The pond is of great biological interest, belonging to the ponds of Outines adjoining the Lake of Der. To reach it, you have to park on the car park of the Maison de l'Oiseau et du Poisson, near the roundabout of the Chantecoq site. The great egret is often present there in autumn-winter while the purple heron and the bittern nest there.
