MONTMORT CASTLE
If Victor Hugo told the castle of Montmort that he was a "veritable tohu of turrets, weather, pignons, skylights and chimneys", this ancient medieval fortress became the Renaissance a sublime home of approval. Overlooking the Vallée valley, the 4 towers of angles and square shape were preserved from the feudal period. A hybrid building between two eras, it is a demonstration of timeless architectural know-how that will not leave any civilised individual in the st century stone. The visit will let you discover the reception pavilion and the court of honour, the spiral tower allowing access to horses, unique in France with the Amboise, the drawbridge and its guard pavilions, several rooms and lounges, as well as Renaissance era cuisine. Not to mention a little detour by the parks and gardens.
