The Lac du Der, today the largest artificial lake in Europe, with 77 km of shoreline, has become a place of leisure and a natural and ornithological mecca of national interest. More than 270 species are listed there: herons, ducks and cranes, which gather here in spring and autumn more than 40 000 individuals, a stage during their migration. The Lac du Der is also the pleasure of water, beaches and water sports activities that delight all generations. It is also the forest and beautiful walks in perspective on these many hiking trails or along the dam, on foot, by bike or by small train. Six beaches have been developed. Swimming is supervised in season and many water sports activities are available. Other pleasures await you on land, with walking trails, rollerblading and mountain biking trails, children's games, etc.
