Dom Pérignon champagne takes its name from the famous monk cellarer at Hautvillers. He took up his post as procurator in 1668 and set himself the goal of creating the "best wine in the world". It is sometimes claimed that he invented wine effervescence. In reality, it existed before him, but what is certain is that he laid the foundations of the Champagne method: blending of 3 grape varieties, corking, thicker bottles, storage in crayères. Plénitude 2, Vintage, Rosé, these champagnes reveal heights of expression never before attained. Heavenly!
