MARL SOURCE

On this commune, La Marne takes its source from a cave bearing the name of a lingon chef, Sabinus, rebel towards the Roman authority. He was chased down by his enemies for nine years, at the end of which he was found and imprisoned in Rome. His wife, Eponine, entered him, begged her grace with Vespasiano, who refused her, and finally got to be executed at the same time as his beloved husband.
