THE ALOT STONE

This dolmen located 5 km south of Nogent, in the forest of Lardigny, near the ancient Roman path (CD 1), on the outskirts of Vitry-les-Nogent, is inscribed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. " Stone stones "carry on the horizontal side a cavity that retains rainwater. Made by man or natural? Mystery! Traditions also say that they were used to collect the blood of the victims sacrificed or offerings. But we now know that they belonged to a whole funeral body and that they were most often linked to burial, buttes of land where the bodies of the deceased were deposited. It also appears that an illustrious warrior was buried there.
