ANCIENNE ABBAYE DE LONGUAY
A former 12th-century cloister building with rib-vaulted rooms, and a 19th-century Neo-Gothic château
the 58th daughter of Clairvaux, the former Longuay Abbey is now largely razed to the ground. All that remains is an old 12th-century cloister building, with its rib-vaulted rooms. Next door, the large building has nothing in common with the former abbey, being a Neo-Gothic château built in the 19th century. Purchased in 1972 by Mr. and Mrs. Strabach, the medieval building is now in the process of being restored, thanks to grants from the Bern Mission.
