RACHI CULTURAL CENTRE
Rachi European University Institute website, featuring a virtual library with a vast collection of books
The Maison Rachi de Troyes is a cultural center dedicated to Rachi of Troyes (1040-1105), one of the greatest Jewish commentators of the Middle Ages. Located in Troyes, Champagne, where he lived and taught, it transmits the knowledge and heritage of medieval Judaism. Housed in a historic building in the town center, it is a reminder that Troyes was a major centre of Judaism in France. Rashi, whose real name was Rabbi Chlomo Itshaki, is famous for his commentaries on the Hebrew Bible and the Talmud, which still influence the study of Judaism today.
