MEGALITHIC MONUMENTS

Dawn concentrates many megaliths mainly assembled in the northwestern part of the department, Le; menhirs, dolmens and polissoirs, so many stones bear witness to a distant past, the Neolithic Final (2500 to 2000 BC). The men of this age drew in local resources, with abundant material on the territory, the cuisien sandstone formed at the Lower Eocene (53 million years BC), which explains the presence of mégalithisme on our territory.
