Imposing castle preserving a keep and a part of the walls, the exteriors and the terraces are available to the visit.
The Loire and Cher valleys have not always been the haven of peace that we know today. It was only during the Renaissance that their warlike past was erased in favor of the magnificent residential castles that line the banks of the royal river and its tributary. Of the imposing fortress erected by the counts of Blois to protect themselves from their bellicose neighbor Foulques Nerra installed in Montrichard, the keep and part of the walls remain. The exteriors and terraces of the present elegant castle are open to visitors free of charge.
