ÉGLISE SAINT-LUBIN
A must-see church for its Latin cross design and Gothic pointed vaults designed to distribute its weight more evenly on the pillars
Saint-Lubin church in Muides-sur-Loire, founded in the 12th century and dedicated to the bishop of Chartres, belonged to the Pontlevoy abbey as early as 1144. Rebuilt in the 16th century, it underwent major renovations in the 19th century before being completely refurbished in 2017. Its Latin cross architecture, with Gothic ogival vaults, allows for a better distribution of weight on the pillars, offering height and luminosity. Its interior decor, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, reflects its rich past and its evolution over the centuries.
