The missions of La (Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs) relate to the application of the activity of the Ministry of culture in the region: heritage, book and public reading, architecture, scientific and technical culture, plastic arts, cinema and audiovisual, live spectacle, cultural development, museums. The Drac is responsible for coordinating and implementing state policies in the cultural field. It is to them that, among other things, associations are seeking subsidies. In the Centre Centre La DRAC is entrusted with an exceptional cultural heritage, especially by its historic built heritage, but also by having been the cradle of great names of French literature such as George Sand or Honoré de Balzac. Given the extent of the territory's territory, there are 6 territorial units of the DRAC Centre.
