LE CARROUSEL PALACE JULES VERNE
Coming from what's left of the train station, hidden as if under rubble, strolling along the Avenue de la République, we find to the left of the edifying statue of Joan of Arc mounted on horseback, Place du Martroi, the Carrousel Palace Jules Verne that fills us with wonder. This beautiful edifice has been running for seventeen years (wasn't it Rimbaud who said "you can't be serious when you're seventeen"?), every day of the years following one another like a well-oiled clock, with no stops counted. Ah, how sweet it is to see these children - and sometimes adults - climb the wooden horses, get into the hot-air balloon, settle into the space rocket or the Nautilus submarine and finally "take off" spinning up, spinning down into this dreamy splendor. After all, even if we're no longer children, we can all fall back into "green paradise" thanks to the dreamlike allegiance that Sellier rides have acquired and revived. And to continue in grace, let's not forget treats such as cotton candy, ice cream cones, granita, crêpes and waffles... A joyous moment of reconciliation for young and old alike.
