CHARLES-DESVERGNES SCULPTURE COLLECTION

With, among others, his Blessed Joan of Arc, created in 1909 on the occasion of the beatification of the valiant of Orléans, Charles Desvergnes (1860-1926),^1st Grand Prix of Rome in 1899, a classical and academic statuary, was then forgotten until 2000 when the town hall of Bellegarde, his birthplace, decided to dedicate to him in the Pavillon d'Antin a museum composed of more than a hundred of his sculptural models, listed as historical monuments.
