In 2026, Beaugency town hall celebrates its fifth century. Its Renaissance façade, a marvel of marvels, houses eight embroidered hangings from the Notre-Dame abbey church, dating from 1630 to 1640, in the wood-panelled Salle d'Honneur on the second floor. Restored between 2009 and 2015 with the utmost care to ensure that the three stitches of needlepoint are not depreciated, a visit is a must when faced with this great art, which has virtually disappeared. Stunning!
