For more than 100 years, Institut de Touraine has welcomed more than 2,500 students from all over the world each year to take French courses in a beautiful downtown building. It also provides training for teachers of French as a foreign language. Is its success due to the idea that French is spoken in Touraine "without an accent"? (a mirage for real linguists!). In any case, the Institute is working seriously: a member of the Groupement FLE, it has a convention with the University of Tours. The courses are adapted to the level and the objectives of each one, with a personalized follow-up. The place delivers diplomas like the DELF, the DALF or the TCF.

Hay espacio para la mejora: desde la acogida del alumnado a la política de devoluciones por cambio de residencia (de la que nunca fui informada), pasando por la coordinación pedagógica. En este último punto, siendo yo misma profesora de lenguas, creo que estoy capacitada para decir que algunos profesores deberían planificar las clases e ir más allá de proporcionar fotocopias. Por otro lado, a la hora de corregir cualquier aspecto de una lengua, no habría que olvidar que están tratando con personas y que cualquier alusión a las capacidades del alumno sobra. Se trata de motivar a los alumnos, no de que detesten la lengua francesa.
