Classified as a historic monument, the Sainte-Radegonde fountain is mentioned in the archives of La Châtre from the fifteenth century. Water then washed directly from the rock and thought it was protecting women in layers. Candles were burned to plead the help of the saint. The construction of white stone in neogothic style, which is seen today, was built under the Second Empire.
