This particular hotel was built in the eighteenth century by the Marquis de Villaines. It is a large classic style building, framing a courtyard. It now houses the intercommunal library (National Street side) and Heritage Funds. Exhibition rooms are located on the ground floor. They overlook the small square George Sand where a statue of the novelist, the pen by hand, is throne. From March to October, there are contemporary works of art (painting, ceramics, photography).
