This castle exhibits the works of a contemporary artist as well as those of Annick Thévenin, the owner of the place.
During the summer period, the castle exhibited in July and August the works of a contemporary artist and those of Annick Work, the owner of the sites. According to George Sand, "No castle is more strangely mysterious and romantic."
Since 1962, a harp festival initiated by Pierre Jamet, with internship, master class and concerts, takes place every year. Five days in August, the village vibrates to the sound of the harp and receives the greatest international artists.

Château de Gargilesse 36190 Gargilesse-Dampierre
Lors de ma visite, le Château de Gargilesse était fermé et je me suis contentée d'en admirer les extérieurs depuis la grille. Un panneau devant l'entrée l'annonçait fermé depuis le 1er septembre. Un petit historique du château était également affiché, donnant envie d'y revenir en période touristique, ce que je ne manquerais pas de faire, si l'occasion se présente.
