All that remains of this beautiful fortress are the imposing ruins and a round keep, now an empty shell with 6 towers out of 8.

Of this beautiful fortress of the XIIth and XVth centuries remain only imposing ruins, and the round keep on a motte in the north of the enclosure became an empty carcass. The enclosure preserved five semi-circular protruding towers and a circular tower, of the eight which protected it at the origin. The remains of the lordly dwelling of the Montpensier ladies can be seen, as well as those of the entrance châtelet and a three-storey tower with its portcullis and drawbridge.
