In the Neoroman style, this church was built on Dauvergne's plans, inspired by the church of Issoire in the Puy-de-Dôme, and completed in 1882. A golden virgin of 6 meters high is perched on the dome and its bell tower is 50 meters. Inside, a series of Girault-Dupin capitals and columns of the veiled granite chorus. A Pietà of the sixteenth century was reinstalled in a chapel.

Eglise Notre-Dame 36000 Châteauroux
L’Église Notre-Dame située à Châteauroux, est une très belle église avec son dôme surmontée de la statue de Notre-Dame dorée et étincelante au soleil. J’ai tout particulièrement apprécié les beaux vitraux, les Stations du Christ naïves et belles ainsi que les chapiteaux très ouvragés. A voir !
