In the early th and th centuries, Notre-Dame church is called Notre-Dame-des-Marais and covers both the church and the chapel of the nearby Hotel-Dieu. The main building was destroyed in 1798 and the hospital chapel was transformed into a parish church in 1802. Between the two, the building becomes a temple of revolutionary reason. At the bottom of the church, terracotta figures represent the Nativity. Some statues, which were in Notre-Dame-des-Marais, show the main biblical characters, with King David taking the strokes of Henri IV.
