The Tibetan New Year, Losar, is a time of many celebrations in Lhasa and throughout the autonomous province. Based on the lunar calendar, the Losar festival lasts 3 days; three public holidays of jubilation for the entire population. Note: the Tibetan year does not correspond to the Chinese year, so the Tibetan New Year is not on the same date!
