LEI DAY

We make and exchange lei (flower necklaces). In Hawaii, on May^1st, we offer flower necklaces and not lily of the valley, tradition obliges! The 2022 edition was the 94th edition of the almost centennial event! The opportunity to award many prizes to the makers of the most beautiful, elaborate and original necklaces. The theme of 2023 the Mountain Lei and the flower in honor is the Metrosideros polymorpha called "Ōhi'a lehua" in Hawaii. The goal is to raise awareness of the threat of invasive plants on this beautiful endemic shrub.
