The Alta Via n ° 1, the «High Road of Dolomites», crosses the pink mountains of the north to the south over 100 kilometers, offering hikers one to two weeks of roaming and the opportunity to discover some of the most grandiose sites. Unlike the Alta Via n ° 2, from Brixen to Feltre and presenting several difficulties (passages exposed to vacuum, pentus neurosis), the Alta Via n ° 1 does not require being seasoned to reveal its secrets. Between the lake of Braies, in Trentino, and Belluno in Veneer, you will stay at the altitude, between 1250 and 1750 meters and sleep in bivouac or in shelters (book in advance in summer!). You will feel far from everything, crossing only four times the paved roads. A reassuring itinerary but completely depaying!
