Designed by the Piedmontese Sambuy, it was opened in 1879 and you can now walk among many trees such as cedars, pines, chestnuts, sycamores, cypresses, some English oaks, sequoias... Read moreThe 827 ha of saltworks can be discovered on foot, by bike or by boat. The park includes the industrial salt production plant and the old Camillone saltworks where salt is still harvested in the traditional way. It is the only saltworks to have survived the reorganisation of salt production in 1959, when small family-run saltworks were replaced by large collection basins and salt harvesting became mechanised. The salt marshes are home to many species of birds, including flamingos.
