Facing the Cathedral Sainte-Sante, in the heart of Old Nice, it was opened in 1825 and enlarged in the 1880 s, with the puncture of the Rue street. The fountain that orne the square was built in the early 1980 s.

The pharmacy, at the beginning of the Rue du Pont-Vieux, is the oldest in Nice (), even though a recent renovation has largely changed it. Today this place is one of the busiest places in the city, with its restaurants of restaurants and glaciers.
