Astronomy Franche-Comté

Despite being based in Pontarlier, the astronomy club organizes its observation sessions some ten kilometers from the town, in the southern sector of Hauterive-la-Fresse. This location offers excellent sky quality, characterized by almost insignificant light pollution. Wednesday evenings begin with a tour of the observatory, complete with technical explanations of the sky and telescopes, before focusing on celestial observations.

If the words exoplanet, galaxy or meteorite make you dream, the activities of the Société Astronomique de Bourgogne are for you! Since 1975 this association has been offering a rich program around astronomy. Conferences are held throughout the year, on the second Tuesday of each month, presented by renowned researchers and academics. Generally these are held in the Nave, 1 place du Théâtre, and are free of charge. To perfect your knowledge of the sky, observations are also offered one Saturday a month at the Observatoire des Hautes-Plates (Combe Serpent Park). Finally, if you wish to improve your knowledge of astronomy or start observing, internships are also organized for adults or children aged 9 to 13.

Take a seat in the large room of the Dijon planetarium and admire the show. Comfortably installed and in total immersion thanks to a 360° projection, you will discover an impressive show about the Universe, the solar system and the birth of the Earth. The projected films are eclectic and for all audiences. You can also walk in the botanical garden and go to the Museum of Natural History where the entrance is free.
