Classical opera and dance concert halls Franche-Comté

The Grand Théâtre, together with the auditorium, composes the Opera Dijon ensemble. This hall, completed in 1828, is quite simply magnificent with a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Outside, eight majestic columns welcome you and invite you to enter this temple of the arts, which was last renovated in 2005. The chandelier that adorns the ceiling of the hall alone weighs 700 kg, and like all the chandeliers in the building, it is made of Murano crystal. The paintings are also superb, and the foyer is well worth a visit. The hall has been home to all the great works of the classical repertoire and French theatre. A magnificent place of Dijon's heritage!

As every year, the Besançon Orchestra will give seven concerts in the capital city of Leuven. Then he will export his virtuosity throughout the territory, so that all music lovers in the region can enjoy his famous interpretations for their high quality. What remains unchanged, a tradition too deeply rooted for Montcelliens, is the Foire aux grattons, which will celebrate this greasy culinary specialty on Saturday in the Place de l'Eglise.

The Eccentric Theatre offers a lively, inventive, rich and character programming. It is a varied plateau with an interesting line in French song, with the theatre of young regional companies, world music and dance. Internships are organized for students wishing to open up to the world of theatre. The performances are open to everyone in addition to entry prices that defy competition through very advantageous formulas. The place for floor on the boards and entertainment at low prices!

In early May, Montceau-les-Mines is the heart of the Overseas Festival in Burgundy, which aims to highlight the role of Saône-et-Loire in the abolition of slavery. One of its highlights in 2024 will be a recital by Marie-Claude Bottius. This lyric artist from Martinique has put together a show highlighting the abolitionist writers, musicians and composers of ^19th-century French opera. It's a beautiful musical historical plunge.
