When to go en Grèce continentale ?
Throughout the year, there are festivals and cultural and sporting events all over Greece. The calendar is also punctuated by Greek Orthodox festivals. Some are fixed dates, such as Christmas (December 25), the Dormition of the Mother of God (August 15) and the feasts of saints. But the most important is Easter. It falls on a moving date that changes every year (April 20, 2025, April 12, 2026, May 2, 2027...) and is almost always different from that of Catholic Easter.

Ideas for holidays and week-end breaks en Grèce continentale
Greece is one of those countries: one of those countries from which one returns, thinking that one will inevitably return. Indeed, it is impossible to say that we "made" Greece, as each territory is so different. Its fans know that Greece is not limited to the Cyclades and its little white houses. Apart from the islands - which are also very pleasant - mainland Greece offers many other facets: archaeological sites and monuments classified by Unesco, but also landscapes of breathtaking wilderness. Still unknown to tourists, regions such as Thrace or Macedonia have managed to remain authentic and full of surprises. And if one feels truly in the East in the West, the Venetians remember us in Epirus like the Franks in the Peloponnese. Here, sea and mountains live in perfect harmony, so what a pleasure it is to combine the exercise of hiking with the pleasure of swimming!

Never been to Greece before? Well, you must already know a little about it! Of course, it brings to mind beaches, blue skies, feta cheese, olive oil, salads and the letters sigma (Σ), delta (Δ), omega (Ω), psi (Ψ) and phi (Φ). It also brings back school memories: Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, the Lioness Gate of Mycenae, the Olympic Games, the oracle of Delphi... Then there's the Acropolis of Athens, Alexander the Great, the twelve labors of Heracles, the twelve gods of Olympus, Homer'sIlliad, Angelopoulos' cinema, Orthodox churches, the Corinth Canal, Les Enfants du Pirée, perched monasteries, the financial crisis of 2009... But also be prepared to be surprised by ski resorts, the wines of Nemea and Naoussa, hiking in national parks, some of the world's richest museums, Frankish castles, Venetian fortresses, Ottoman mosques..
