GENS DE LA LUNE

Astronomy

This association of astronomical observation was launched under the will of Mr Le Hir. You will be able to discover and observe the universe. A room is made available to the members of the association with observation equipment, when they wish to go there... But especially when the weather allows it! It is probably for this reason (the climatic hazards linked to this hobby) that the association's site is in fact a panel of weather observations updated every 5 minutes to know if the conditions are favourable or not for the observation of stars, planets and other galaxies! Rendezvous is given at the observatory in Brest. To your glasses!

OBSERVATOIRE ASTRONOMIQUE DE LA POINTE DU DIABLE

Astronomy

The management of this observatory is devolved to two distinct entities: the engineering school IMT Atlantique, which owns the site, and the association Gens de la Lune, which owns the astronomical equipment used. The observatory is open very frequently, as soon as the sky is clear. To find out the dates and times of the observation evenings, it is therefore imperative to regularly consult the agenda available on the website (sometimes the decision to open the dome is even taken only a few hours before the evening!). Moreover, the association usually meets there on the first Friday of the month at 6 pm; this is the occasion to make contact for possible future astronomical outings.

PLANÉTARIUM DE BRETAGNE

Closed - Open to 14h30

This beautiful planetarium is located only a few kilometers from Pleumeur-Bodou, in the Parc du Radôme. The park also incorporates the Cité des télécoms in which one finds a universe of games, exhibitions, animations, 3 D films and performances sound and light, as well as the Gallic village with its atypical attractions and games (labyrinth, balloon launcher, pirate boats, druid house, etc.). The planetarium is a very good size (20 m diameter with a host capacity of 280 people) and uses the latest digital technologies to project all types of high definition images on its dome. In addition to the 100,000 stars he can generate, he is also capable of showing stars, aurorus polar aurores, arches in the sky, trajectories in the sky of the spacecraft, and getting us to travel to various planets of the solar system, to comets, asteroids, etc. The show is therefore at the turn. You and you usually get out of the session with the full of souvenir images to tell. Note that every first Friday of the month, the Trégor astronomy club organizes a free evening of observation, open to all audiences, next to the planetarium.
