NOËL (SOURP DZENOUNT)

The Armenian Church celebrates on the same day the Nativity, the Epiphany, and the Theophany (the Baptism of Christ). The Christmas Mass, celebrated by the Catholicos who delivers his sermon, is the culmination of festivities whose religious dimension is emphasized by the bells ringing on the fly. But in Armenia as elsewhere, Christmas is above all a time of celebration, of which the large Christmas tree in the Republic Square of Yerevan is the emblem. Recently, the capital has a Christmas market, which attracts an ever-increasing number of people and is a delight for children.
