As its sign indicates, this restaurant is located on the 11th floor of one of the buildings of a somewhat solemn neo-Armenian architecture of this avenue du Nord inaugurated in 2007, linking the Place de la République to the Place de l'Opéra. As with all the establishments on this new artery, which seeks to give character with shows and entertainment, prices are relatively high, but Armenian and international specialties are served in an elegant setting and rooftop, the main asset, gives them even more flavour

PRINCESS MARIANNA NAV

Anchored under the big Victory Bridge (Hakhtanaki Gamourdj), this boat (nav) cannot offer you a cruise, because of the draught, the Hrazan almost dry in summer, not being navigable... But you can also embark on a culinary and folklore cruise, which will take you on a journey through the flavours of Armenian cuisine to the sound of the folklore groups that sometimes perform there, even if the atmosphere in the gorge is not the same since the many guinguettes that settled there in the early 2000s have dropped anchor.

BARDINER RESTAURANT

A typical restaurant along the thin stream of the Hrazdan, one of the survivors of the many guinguettes that were set up in the gorges at the beginning of the 2000s. A little overhanging, in a green setting, it offers a view of the site from its large terraces. But the cuisine, especially the brochettes, which the restaurant has made a speciality, along with other typical Armenian dishes on the menu, is not always in tune with the place, which is nicely furnished and decorated, and the staff, who are welcoming.

If you have a sudden craving for sushi and other makis, perhaps tired of khorovadz, it is now possible to find some and have them delivered to Yerevan, where Japanese take-away or eat-in Japanese cuisine has found many fans. This beautiful establishment, decorated in the Japanese style, is undoubtedly one of the best in the capital for its value for money; a profusion of sushi and other Japanese specialities served in the dining room or in the charming private lounges with parchment walls, or that can be taken away.

Several establishments have been created between Dvin and Khor Virap, offering regional specialties. This one, set up in a village not far from the monastery, serves a copious and tasty local cuisine, in the bucolic setting of a garden where one can taste huge khorovadz or fish dishes under the arbour. The establishment also offers to guests passing through the area a few rooms with basic but acceptable comfort.

You can't miss it, in the heart of the small town of Garni, not far from the temple. Closed in the evenings, as the nightlife is not hectic in Garni, there is a good table for lunch, perfect for visitors who come to spend the day. A beautiful interior decor, with a green setting on one side overlooking the canyon, justifying the ayki sign, which means garden, where good Armenian cuisine is offered, and a wine cellar, maran in Armenian

ARAKADZ RESTAURANT

If you want to eat in the area, there are not many possibilities. This restaurant, recently created in the village of Aragats, before arriving in Abaran, is one of them and rather pleasant. A modest establishment of large rustic stones, like the rudimentary houses of the region, in the bucolic setting of a garden where one can relax after a meal of basic Armenian specialties in a warm and family atmosphere, the restaurant being also a place to go out for the locals.

GAGARI MOT RESTAURANT

An address for gourmets, in a magnificent setting, located just beyond the peninsula, which can be admired - once you cross the stone threshold imitating the churches of Sevanavank - from the wood-panelled room open onto the lake, while tasting the local specialities (lake fruit platter, fish brochettes) and Italian specialities served at any time of the day, with a sometimes strong zeal and a slightly salty addition. An atmosphere that encourages travel, to which the two small boats moored in front of the restaurant, which also offers some rooms, invite you
