Since 2012, this establishment - a veritable little museum of Guyanese culture - has been exhibiting and selling items from local crafts. You'll find jewelry, hut skies and pottery. Videos and documents are made available to the public, showing the different processes involved in making the objects. On Saturdays, it becomes a real meeting place for sharing know-how, thanks to the various workshops on offer (engraving, sculpture, etc.).

This temporary exhibition hall for Guyanese artists offers a wide range of events relating to the history and culture of the people of Rémire-Montjoly and its immediate surroundings, including Cayenne. It occupies the walls of Rémire-Montjoly's first school, built in 1908 to accommodate those affected by the eruption of Mount Pelée, which unleashed fiery clouds on the island of Martinique in 1902.

At the NGO's premises on rue Simon in the Chinese village, you'll discover a Tembé museum (traditional art of the Maroni people), featuring around a hundred works by local artists, as well as a phytotheque for recognizing over 100 traditional plants. Founded more than 20 years ago, this cultural center also works to transmit the cultures of the Maroon people: popular arts and traditions, traditional pharmacopoeia and therapies, customs and sustainable development.

This centre allows visitors to enter the world of the Amerindians through learning workshops (basketry, calabash engraving). Conferences, cultural activities, a traditional carbet and a permanent exhibition highlight several themes relating to the life of the Amerindians in French Guyana. Perfect for young and old, you will find a refreshment bar as well as a craft shop. It is also possible to sleep on site with or without your own hammock.
