ST CYRILLE ET MÉTHODE (SV CYRILA A METODA)

In Slovakia, the feast of Cyril and Methodius is celebrated on 5 July and 14 February in non-Slavic countries. Slovaks commemorate the holiday of the "Apostles of the Slavs", i.e. those who evangelized the Slavic peoples of Central Europe. They developed the Slavic script (the Glagolitic alphabet) and translated liturgical and biblical texts into Old Slavic. Saints Cyril and Methodius were also declared co-owners of Europe.
