This honorary consular agency, led by Consul Guillaume Maman, is attached to the Consulate of France in San Francisco. It lends assistance to French nationals who are in difficulty as a result of illness, accident or theft, for example.

Please note that this is an honorary representation, which does not have any allocation in respect of visas or passports.

The Friendship is open to the French who have made military service and foreigners who have served in the French army or who have participated in military operations in France. Activities are regularly organized: visits, ceremonies, banquets, picnics, excursions, conferences.

The city of Carmel is home to the Alliance Française de la Péninsule de Monterey, which is both an embassy and a consulate. The Alliance Française offers a variety of activities and events for Francophones and Francophiles in the area. They also offer resources and information on Alliance Française membership. The Alliance Française de Berkeley is a language school located in Berkeley, California. It offers French courses for all levels, as well as private and corporate courses. The school is easily accessible from all parts of the Bay Area via BART, A/C Transit and bus #18. There is also free street parking. Please call ahead to make an appointment.
