From luxury to cheap, you will find everything! For luxury stores, the Fashion Quadrilateral in Milan and the area around Piazza di Spagna in Rome are famous. In most major Italian cities, the winter sales begin in early January and end in early March. The summer sales in Italy usually start on the first Saturday of July and end around mid-August. The dates vary by region.

Finally, for a non-perishable souvenir, there is a wealth of handicrafts in the country (Tuscan leather, Murano glassware, Capodimonte porcelain...): each region has its own speciality.
