This feast commemorates Abraham's sacrifice of his son Isaac at God's command. At the last moment, God replaced the child with a ram. Aïd el-Kebir, also known as the "Feast of the Sheep", commemorates this event, and every Moroccan family sacrifices a sheep on this occasion. Only considerations of the utmost importance can disrupt this festival, as in 1981 and 1982, when the King asked that sacrifices not be made to avoid depleting livestock stocks affected by the country's drought.

It is in Fes that it should be lived! It is full of sincere depth,
it is the festival! I had to take part in 1957, I was aviator, this year I was again, nothing did not change! And follow the advance skin veudue to the bidding and tana... my ceintur and my Turkish slippers come from here.
