The Jewish quarter of the Mellah has three markets where it is good to stroll. Rather frequented by the inhabitants of the neighboring streets, you will not be solicited as in the alleys of the medina. The jewelers' souk gathers about fifty merchants, selling mainly gold. The covered market is home to fabric stalls and an array of haberdashers. The spice souk offers an impressive variety of spices and seeds and tubers of all kinds, but also common products such as black soap, henna or ghassoul.

Held by a Moroccan with taste, the shop of Abdelmotalib Rabeh is a real Ali Baba's cave. There is a wide range of Moroccan crafts, from Berber jewelry to blue ceramics from Fez, through traditional clothing and slippers. Lovers of precious stones can find beautiful samples of cobalts and amethysts. Abdelmotalib has two other shops, one for paintings, the other for Berber and Touareg carpets. To get good prices, however, you will have to use your negotiating skills.
