Athens-Symi. The island is connected to the Greek capital by ferry twice a week from Le Piraeus (17 hours of crossing). Before arriving at Symi, the boats serve Patmos, Lipsi, Leros, Kalymnos and Kos and then join Rhodes.
Rhodes-Symi. In addition to the two ferries following the road of Athens, the island is connected once a day to Rhodes by excursion boats which also call at the port of Panormitis. Three other ferry connections are possible during the week. There are also two to four hydrofoils per day (50 minutes), every day except on Monday.
Connections with the other islands. Symi is connected at least once a day by hydrofoil to Kos and Kalymnos. There are also connections with Leros, Patmos, Lipsi, Kos, Kalimnos.
