LE RETOUR DU SOLEIL

After months of darkness in winter, it is particularly pleasant to see the sun reappear on the horizon. The return of the sun is celebrated by family trips, songs, coffee and cakes in most cities north of the Arctic Circle. For example, families and classes leave on 13 January in Ilulissat to travel to Seqinniarfik as a Dog sled and welcome the return of the sun with songs. Often, the population joins a local point to contemplate the horizon.
