Saint Martin : Discover

With its mornes, salt flats and white sandy beaches, Saint-Martin is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful pearls in the Lesser Antilles. But this volcanic island offers travelers two faces. The border that separates the Dutch side from the French is not just an administrative one. The northern part of the island, controlled by France, retains a wilder aspect; the coastline is less urbanized, the main towns are small and still bear witness, in some cases, to traditional architecture, while the mornes in the center of Saint-Martin invite you to hike in the heart of nature. The Dutch south of the island is highly urbanized. From Simpson Bay to Philipsburg, casinos, restaurants and shopping malls dominate the landscape. This difference is due not to chauvinism, but to the administrative differences between the two communities.
