CARNAVAL DE SAINT-MARTIN

Carnival on the French side begins on the Sunday after Epiphany and ends on Ash Wednesday. Carnival parades are organized on the non-working days. Each group parades in front of the population on a float with a sound system. Elections are held for best costume, best make-up and most beautiful Miss Carnival. During the Jouvert Morning parade, the public is invited to follow the floats, dancing the night away. Concerts and other events take place in the Carnival Village.
