ANNIVERSAIRE DE CONFUCIUS

Confucius was the most influential philosopher in China, the celebration of his birthday is an important event especially in the schools and temples of the island where dances and rites are organized. Confucianist thought is based on five virtues: charity, equity, rectitude, wisdom and loyalty. The filial devotion and veneration of the ancestors, observed at the feast of Ching Ming and Chiung Yeung, remain the cornerstone of Confucian thought.
